So many people say they want to be “the cool parents,” but I have no such delusions about myself. I’m as nerdy now as I always have been. Only my perspective has changed, and now I’m a father. I am what I am. I’m the dorky daddy.
In reality, my name is Dave. I’ve had some pretty diverse jobs and careers in my 40-something years – coffee barista, film projectionist, library aide, newspaper reporter, TV news anchor, content strategist, writer – but the absolutely best job I’ve ever had is that of dad.
I started this blog shortly before our first child was born as a way to exorcise all the feelings, fears and joys I was going through. Now, a parent of three, it’s an ongoing journey through life, childhood, parenthood and life through the prism of my never-shakeable dorkiness.
Thanks for coming and I hope you stick around for the ride.
